Who we are

Tutor Academy ("we", "us") operates the-tutor.academy and provides a single free account that unlocks access to affiliated tutor sites. This policy explains what we collect and why. Contact: hello@the-tutor.academy.

What we collect

  • Account info: email address, display name, avatar, and the auth provider (Google, Apple, or email) you used to sign in.
  • Profile activity: which tutor sites you have been provisioned to, sign-in timestamps, and preferences you set in your account.
  • Device data: browser type, IP address, and pages viewed, collected via server logs and analytics.
  • Cookies and local storage: used to keep you signed in, remember consent choices, and (with your permission) serve relevant ads.

How we use it

  • Provide the account and keep you signed in across affiliated tutor sites.
  • Send transactional emails (sign-in, account changes). We do not send marketing spam.
  • Measure aggregate traffic and improve the site.
  • Serve advertising via Google AdSense once you consent to advertising cookies.

Cross-site sign-on

When you create a Tutor Academy account, we securely provision an account on each affiliated tutor site so you can sign in there with the same login. We share only a signed identifier and your email address for that purpose. See the Cookie Policy for details on the tokens involved.

Third parties

We use a small set of providers:

  • Supabase - authentication and database hosting.
  • Google AdSense - advertising, subject to your consent. AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites. You can opt out at Google Ads Settings.
  • Affiliated tutor sites - listed on our About page.

Your rights

  • Access and update: view or edit your profile in your account.
  • Delete: use the "Danger zone" in your account to permanently delete your account and associated data.
  • Consent: change your cookie choices any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
  • Contact: email hello@the-tutor.academy for any privacy request.

Children

Tutor Academy is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted here with a new "Last updated" date.
