Who we are
Tutor Academy ("we", "us") operates the-tutor.academy, a directory and publication for the Tutor apps. Every Tutor app is an independent product with its own account, progress, and subscription - we do not create, share, or sign you in to those accounts. This policy explains what we collect here and why.
What we collect
- Account info: email address, display name, avatar, and the auth provider (Google, Apple, or email) you used to sign in.
- Profile activity: sign-in timestamps and the preferences you set in your Tutor Academy account. Nothing about your activity inside a Tutor app.
- Device data: browser type, IP address, and pages viewed, collected via server logs and analytics.
- Cookies and local storage: used to keep you signed in, remember consent choices, and (with your permission) serve relevant ads.
How we use it
- Provide your Tutor Academy account and keep you signed in on this site only.
- Send transactional emails (sign-in, account changes). We do not send marketing spam.
- Measure aggregate traffic and improve the site.
- Serve advertising via Google AdSense once you consent to advertising cookies.
Each Tutor app is separate
Tutor Academy no longer offers a shared login. We do not create accounts on Tutor apps, do not pass your identity or email to them, and do not read their cookies, tokens, or sessions. Links to Tutor apps are ordinary outbound links, and each app has its own account, progress, subscription, and privacy policy. See the Cookie Policy for the cookies we set on this site.
Third parties
We use a small set of providers:
- Supabase - authentication and database hosting.
- Google AdSense - advertising, subject to your consent. AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites. You can opt out at Google Ads Settings.
- Affiliated tutor sites - listed on our About page.
Your rights
- Access and update: view or edit your profile in your account.
- Delete: use the "Danger zone" in your account to permanently delete your Tutor Academy account and its data. Accounts you created inside a Tutor app must be deleted in that app.
- Consent: change your cookie choices any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
- Privacy requests: manage or submit privacy requests from your account.
Children
Tutor Academy is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted here with a new "Last updated" date.
